WORDS FROM THE FOUNDER

Business Women of the Year Nomination 2025. Aspire to Retire a Millionaire"

Introduction:

Imagine a world where financial freedom and entrepreneurial success are no longer just dreams but achievable outcomes for women, especially young people, starting their financial journey early. My name is Suzanne McLaughlin MBRCP , and I am proud to be nominated for Business Woman of the Year 2025. My mission is clear: to create an environment where —smokers particularly adolescents—can aspire to retire as millionaires through smart investments, business development, and creating legacies of wealth. This initiative is not just about securing their future; it’s about empowering the children of the future to take charge of their financial destinies, while also addressing some of the most pressing challenges they face today.

The Vision:

The “Aspire to Retire a Millionaire” initiative is about more than just investment—it’s a call to action to transform the way we think about financial literacy and generational wealth. It’s designed to inspire adolescents to speculate to accumulate by teaching them the skills they need to start building wealth from an early age. At the core of this program is my commitment to business development through a £1 million investment research business initiative that guides young people on how to make intelligent financial decisions, build businesses, and secure long-term success.

But it’s not just about investing. As a grandparent and community member in the Vale of Evesham, I feel it’s also my responsibility to speak out on another critical issue impacting today’s youth—the dangers of unregulated vapes. In a world where so many adolescents are turning to vaping, it’s my duty to raise awareness about the health risks and unregulated products flooding the market.

The Approach:

This initiative has been designed in three phases:

  1. Investment Education and Research:
Through tailored workshops and resources, I help young people understand the importance of research-driven investing, with a focus on speculating to accumulate—the principle of making informed investments to build wealth over time. They are encouraged to explore stocks, real estate, and small businesses. This gives them the confidence to create their own financial future and start investing early.

  2. Business Development & Growth:
This phase teaches young people to translate their financial knowledge into action by starting small businesses. From learning about branding, marketing, and financial planning to developing scalable ventures, they are guided every step of the way to understand the nuances of entrepreneurship. These businesses not only help them build wealth but also provide valuable real-world skills.

  3. Raising Awareness on Health and Safety:
In addition to financial education, I believe it’s crucial to address the dangers young people face today, such as the unregulated vaping industry. As a grandparent and community leader, I’m committed to raising awareness about the health risks of vaping, which has become an alarming trend among adolescents. Many vape products on the market are not regulated, and the long-term health effects are still largely unknown, yet millions of young people are exposed to them.

In the Vale of Evesham and beyond, I see a responsibility to speak out, educate, and take action against the risks posed by unregulated vapes. As a mentor and advocate, I am using my platform to educate parents, schools, and young people about these dangers, empowering them to make safer, informed choices.

Why This Matters to Me Personally:

My dedication to this cause goes beyond professional experience; it’s deeply personal. I was a smoker from a very early age, and I understand firsthand the struggle of breaking free from an addiction that can define so much of your life. The grip of nicotine is powerful, and the influence it can have on young people is something I’m all too familiar with. Overcoming this addiction has not only been a challenge, but also a turning point in my life. It is this personal experience that drives me to educate and advocate against the dangers of vaping, a trend that mirrors the early days of smoking in many ways.

I have walked the path of addiction, and now, I’m passionate about helping others—especially young people—avoid falling into the same trap. As a grandparent, I feel it is my responsibility to ensure that the next generation doesn’t suffer from the same mistakes I made. By raising awareness about the dangers of vaping and unregulated nicotine products, I hope to spare them from unnecessary health risks and potential lifelong struggles.

The Impact:

The “Aspire to Retire a Millionaire” initiative is about empowering young people to take control of their financial futures while addressing the dangers of vaping. By combining financial literacy, business development, and health awareness, I am shaping the next generation of leaders who will not only be financially secure but also healthy and well-informed.

The impact has been extraordinary: young people are gaining confidence to invest, start businesses, and make better health decisions. In the Vale of Evesham, I have worked with local schools and community organizations to create awareness campaigns around both financial independence and the dangers of vaping, ensuring that our youth have the tools to succeed while protecting their health.

Why Me:

As a businesswoman who has built a successful portfolio through speculating to accumulate, I have firsthand experience of the power of smart investments. Through research-driven business development, I have grown ventures that have made a real impact on communities. But beyond business, I am a grandparent who deeply cares about the well-being of future generations. This is why I’ve taken a stand on both financial literacy and the dangers of unregulated vapes.

With my £1 million investment research business initiative, I’m creating a clear path for young people to follow in order to build sustainable wealth. But as a community member, I also feel a deep responsibility to raise my voice against the dangers of vaping, ensuring our youth don’t fall victim to trends that could harm their future health and success.

Conclusion:

2025  Business Woman of the Year would allow me to amplify my work in the Vale of Evesham and beyond, empowering young people to aspire to retire as millionaires while taking action against the dangerous, unregulated vaping industry. I believe that by educating the next generation on both financial independence and health safety, we can create a future where they are not only wealthy but also well-informed, healthy, and resilient.

Thank you for considering my nomination. Let’s work together to build a future where young people are financially empowered, healthy, and ready to lead with confidence.
